Introducing the NEW 2015/2016 Season at The Lake Worth Playhouse!

2015_2016SeasonHeaderIt’s that time of year when we announce next season, so here we go!  So many factors go into choosing a season, I have to think about the bottom line first and foremost and then I have to keep in mind our talent.  Since they are volunteers I have to pay attention to what they would like to dedicate their time and talents to. Each show takes about two months of their lives so the shows have to inspire them.  Of course I have to think about you, our audience.  You are the tickets buyers and the subscribers, so you are important in this decision.  I do believe you will be pleased with the choices that are made.  We will kick off the summer with The Who’s Tommy. I’m sure each of you have at one point heard this story and I’m sure sang along with Elton John (or The Who) to “Pinball Wizard”.  It promises to be a fun summer with loads of singing and dancing.  To officially open the season the heart-warming Meet Me in St. Louis, a rare treasure in the musical theatre, hits the stage.  Next a wonderful comedy, I Hate Hamlet, that brings together the greatest actor to have played Hamlet with the TV star who really doesn’t care for the part.  Our next musical is High Society, based on the play, The Philadelphia Story. Throw in Cole Porter’s music and you can’t miss!  We have so many fine actors that don’t have the ability to do musicals (or just don’t like to, LOL) that we want to showcase their talents as well. Inherit The Wind is about an explosive episode in American culture and is one of the most stirring plays that any actor would love to perform.  We will end our season with the American Classic, The Pajama Game, great story with great music.  I’m excited about this line-up and hope you will be also.

Please as always I wish you nothing but health and happiness.
