The Pajama Game
April 7-24
Book by George Abbott and Richard Bissell
Music and Lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross
Based on the novel 7 1/2 Cents by Richard Bissell
The Pajama Game was awarded the 1955 TONY for Best Musical and over half a century later claimed the award for Best Revival of a Musical – proving the story is truly timeless. With an energetic score by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross (Damn Yankees), The Pajama Game is brimming with songs and dances that have become musical theatre standards, including “Steam Heat” and “Hernando’s Hideaway”. Conditions at the Sleep-Tite Pajama Factory are anything but peaceful, as sparks fly between new superintendent Sid Sorokin and Babe Williams, leader of the union grievance committee. Their stormy relationship comes to a head when the workers strike for a 7 ½ cent pay increase, setting off not only a conflict between management and labor, but a battle of the sexes as well.

A KID LIKE JAKE by Daniel Pearle
Directed by: Shonna Rash
April 21 – May 1, 2016
Tickets: $20
The Florida Premiere of Daniel Pearle’s play begins on the eve of the admissions cycle for Manhattan’s most exclusive private schools; Alex and Greg have high hopes for their son Jake, a precocious four-year-old who happens to prefer Cinderella to G.I. Joe. But as the process continues, Jake’s behavior becomes erratic and perplexing, and other adults in his life start to wonder whether his fondness for dress-up might be cause for concern. The story of a husband and wife struggling to do right by their son, A KID LIKE JAKE is a study of intimacy and parenthood and the fantasies that accompany both.
“smart, fluent drama…Mr. Pearle has found an intriguing subject of real currency, and one that stirs our natural sympathy.” -NY Times.
“A KID LIKE JAKE is a searching, keenly perceptive look at how the nature-versus-nurture question can play out on the front lines of tolerance today.” -Time Out NY
